Monica is a board certificated obstetrician and gynecologist and Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She joined Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts in September of 2016 as a member of the Physician Review Unit performing utilization management medical necessity reviews for requested services. In 2022, she became the Clinical Director for Reproductive Health and Gender Affirming services serving as the subject matter expert for transgender and infertility services for utilization management and case management clinical support, medical policy development, and member navigation. In January of 2026, she added additional roles providing oversight and medical direction for the Care Management teams and was designated as the medical director of graduate medication education for BCBSMA’s Massachusetts Medical Society accredited continuing medical education (CME) program.
Prior to working at BCBSMA, Monica was a medical consultant in women’s health to a venture backed company working to produce accurate insights and predictions into clinical care. She has been practicing OB/GYN at Atrius Health since 2006 and prior to that worked for Caritas Medical Group.
Monica completed her undergraduate degree at Cornell University and her medical degree and training at Tufts University.
