In this session, 2019 WorkWell MA Award Winners Beth Milaszewski, LICSW, Employee Resilience and Wellness Clinician for Boston Medical Center, and Sarah Gerekos, Health Promotion Specialist and Wellness Coach for Kronos Incorporated, will discuss their organizational strategies for identifying, preventing and managing burnout in the workplace. This will include examples of how they developed programs to improve the physical, mental, social and financial well-being of their employees as well as the impact it has had on the workforce.

As a wellness coach, Sarah Gerekos is passionate about helping participants create the habits, tools, and knowledge to accomplish their wellness goals. With over 8 years of experience working with people on health and wellness, Sarah believes wellness is something everyone can achieve given the right tools and support. She has centered her career around teaching health and nutrition while working to make wellness accessible to everyone. Sarah strives to bring innovation, creatively and practicality to health promotion. Her goal is to promote a culture of wellness that everyone can participate in and feel welcomed.
Beth Milaszewski

BETH MILASZEWSKI, LICSW
Employee Assistance Clinician
Ms. Milaszewski worked at AllOne Health Resources Employee Assistance Program for 7 years as a Counselor, Account Manager and Affiliate Network Manager. During that time she focused her attention on working with employees suffering from substance used disorders and their employers on how to best manage the situation. In 2011 she started private practice where she focused her attention on working with people suffering from PTSD. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which is considered best practice for the treatment of PTSD by the American Psychological Association and the Department of Defense. Her expertise involves working with adults, specifically first responders, military personnel and adult victims of abuse, facing issues related to domestic violence, abuse, suicidality and substance use disorders. She specializes in providing crisis clinical assessment and intervention, in both the individual and group setting. She completed the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation’s (ICISF) Group Crisis Intervention training and Assisting Individuals in Crisis training. Her primary focus is to integrate individual trauma treatment practices into the workflow of institutions where working in stressful situations is a common occurrence, in an effort to promote a culture of empathy, safety and respect.
