We’ve assembled a panel of worksite wellness experts from various stages in their career to help you explore the many opportunities available in this growing industry. They’ll offer advice on how to navigate the worksite wellness space, share their professional journey, and offer thoughts on what you might expect for the evolution of this industry. This is the ideal event for those of you new to worksite wellness, looking to grow your career, and/or students exploring potential opportunities. Takeaway valuable insights on how to enter this field or boost your career to the next level. Learn and make connections to help you plot your course for your life and career.

Director, Environmental Health, Safety & Sustainability Engagement
Johnson & Johnson

Currently, Deb is the Director of Environmental Health, Safety & Sustainability Engagement at Johnson & Johnson (J&J). Deb leads internal stakeholder engagement, stewarding safety and environmental sustainability behaviors at J&J. Prior to her role within EHS&S, Deb spent 15 years providing leadership, development and delivery for J&J Global Health Services (GHS), impacting the health of the J&J global employee population (125,000+ employees) through education and awareness programs, and healthy culture-building initiatives. Deb received a Master of Science degree in Health Promotion from Springfield College and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communications from The Pennsylvania State University. Additionally, she is a Master Certified Health Education Specialist. Deb has presented at HERO, NBGH, WWCMA, Boston College Center for Work & Family, CEO’s Against Cancer and participated in the CDC expert panel for Worksite Obesity Prevention and Control. She is a Board member of the Center for Active Design in NYC and served as the WWCMA Student Outreach Committee Chair.

In addition to spending time with her happy family, dog, cat and an apiary of bees, Deb enjoys writing, gardening, biking, running, hiking and cross-country skiing.

Melissa Epstein

Senior Manager, Benefits
AMAG Pharmaceuticals

Melissa is Senior Manager of Benefits for AMAG Pharmaceuticals in Waltham, MA where she manages all of their Benefits and Wellness programs. She works to build programs that align to the strategic mission and vision of the company while also attracting and retaining employees. Previously, Melissa held Benefits and Wellness roles at UpCurve Inc, LogMeIn and CDM Smith.

Melissa earned her bachelor’s degree from UMASS Amherst in Hospitality and Tourism Management and her Master of Arts from Framingham State University in Human Resources Management.

Jaclyn Galligan

Jaclyn has over 10 years’ experience in the well-being industry. She began her career at Health Fitness where she oversaw the delivery of site based corporate Wellness and Fitness services for a large multinational health care company. Her experience spans various facets of the industry including health insurance, biometric screenings, corporate programs, and technology solutions. Jaclyn currently holds a position as Strategic Director of Client Success at Virgin Pulse, the largest global health and wellbeing company, and prior to Virgin she was Vice President of Client Management at Provant Health. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Springfield College and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Public Health.

Kathleen Hewes, MS, RD, LDN, CWPM

Senior Clinical Consultant, Population Health & Wellness
Tufts Health Plan

Kathleen is Senior Clinical Consultant of Population Health and Wellness at Tufts Health Plan. She develops and manages Tufts University's health and wellness strategy by envisioning, assessing, designing and implementing the overall utilization of the decentralized resources across three campuses. Kathleen's wellness programs cover a variety of work related health topics and utilize a communication strategy that ensures visibility and access to faculty and staff. She works closely with vendors to align goals and insure program objectives are being met and uses analytic tools to drive programmatic success and engagement.

Melanie Hoffman

Employee Wellbeing Consultant & Coach

Melanie is an independent employee well-being consultant and coach in the Boston area.  She has her BS in Health Science, with a concentration in Health Promotion and Education from Clemson University.  For five years she worked as part of the benefits team at American Express, managing their national employee wellness program.  She also has nine years experience in wellness vendor partner account management, supporting the development and implementation of several Fortune 100 company’s employee wellness programs.

She is a Certified Health Education Specialist and Wellcoaches Health and Wellness Coach. Melanie lives in North Attleboro, MA, is married with two children, and keeps in mental and physical health by running most days of the week.

Kristie Howard

Vice President, Customer Success & Consulting Services
meQuilibrium

Kristie is the Vice President of Customer Success and Consulting Services at meQuilibirum, which offers solutions that enable companies to build high-performing workforces. Previously, she was a Principal in the Health and Benefits practice at Mercer, a global consulting leader in talent, health, retirement and investments. Earlier in her career, Kristie held positions at Gallagher and Meritain Health.

Kristie earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Emory University and holds her Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (The Wharton School) and Certified Worksite Wellness Program Consultant (Chapman Institute) designations. She is a co-founder of the Worksite Wellness Council of Massachusetts and an active member of the Boston Club. Kristie is an expert in the field of worksite wellness with published articles in The Boston Business Journal, Business and Legal Reports, Employee Benefit News, Employee Benefit Advisor, Risk and Insurance Magazine, and Women’s Business Boston.

Tom Ranley

Health Fitness Specialist

Tom recently graduated from Bridgewater State University with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. Tom is working to obtain his master’s degree in Human Performance and Health Fitness. He is certified in AED and CPR and has his Personal Trainer certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Tom has experience working with a multitude of populations through his previous jobs and internships at Physical Therapy and Cardiac Rehabilitation clinics. He started working in the health and wellness field because he enjoys helping individuals progress from day to day to achieve their goals.
