As the temperatures rise and we head into our summer weekend celebrations, I’d like to cheer our accomplishments and share what’s coming up. So many people contribute to our success, and I am deeply grateful to our dedicated Board members, numerous volunteers, supportive sponsors and engaged members. Your efforts are growing our organization in ways I never could have imagined. Thank you for your great ideas, participation and energy. We would not be where we are today without your contributions!
Reflecting on the past few months, we’ve:
Hosted several events both online and in-person that covered such varied topics as Chronic Pain vs. Depression, Social Connectivity, Sleep Impacting Your Workforce, Mindset of Success and Positivity.
Launched our first employer roundtable event with 21 human resources, benefits and wellness leaders discussing the importance of integrating resiliency into an organization’s culture and talent strategy. The group shared successes and challenges as well as thoughts for changing mindset and habits among their employees. More key takeaways will be shared throughout the year and at our annual conference.
Partnered with NEEBC on a networking event that attracted more than 50 participants, representing a variety of human resources, benefits and wellness disciplines and industries.
Expanded the breadth of experience on our team, recently detailed in this press release:
Welcomed a new full-time staff member, Terry LaMonica, as our Operations and Communications Manager. Terry will be driving process efficiencies and overseeing broad marketing efforts designed to enhance the member experience.
Elected Mike LaCrosse as our Board Treasurer and Robin Bouvier as our Conference Co-Chair. Mike will continue our commitment to fiscal responsibility and growth. Robin will work alongside Kirsten Wright, Conference Co-Chair, in preparing for our premier health promotion and wellness conference.
It’s hard to believe, but our 8th Annual Conference on October 3rd at Gillette will be here before you know it. We’ve already secured dynamic keynote speakers - Victor Strecher, Founder & CEO of Kumanu, and Megan McDonough, General Manager of RISE at Kripalu and Co-Founder of the Wholebeing Institute. They’ll spark our thinking as we take a deeper look into this year’s theme of resilience. Helping employers improve a person’s capacity for responding to the pressures and demands of daily life is our key area of focus. Take advantage of our early bird registration discount and share this link with your friends and colleagues, who can save on membership when signing up for the conference. Also, think about raising your visibility among like-minded colleagues by becoming a sponsor and promoting your wellness commitment!
Looking forward, we are always exploring new ways of continuing our growth through education and fostering connections among our membership. WWCMA is a unique organization and there’s a role for everyone! Come to an event, join a webinar and volunteer your time. We’re a friendly and welcoming community that will embrace your contribution big or small. Have an idea? We’d love to hear it, so please reach out to me or any of our Board members. You can find our email addresses through this link to our newly designed website.
